The human face is important for human relationships and essential to interactions. Any infringement of it physical integrity can negatively affect the relation system. The goal of this research is to study the emotional and relational experiences of patients about thair postoprative satisfaction. To this end, it is évaluated the explanatory model of the traumatic event, the self-esteem and the social phobia of patients in the postoperative context after maxillofacial trauma. The data was collected in the Odontostomatology and maxillofacial surgery department of Yalgado Ouédraogo Unisersity Hospital Center. As sample, five (5) partients victims of maxillofacial trauma after surgical treatment were selected by random draw. As collecting tools, we used a clinical rechearch interview guide, the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale, and the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale. Content analysis and normative analysis are used too. We observe that rational, irratinal or integrated explanatotry models do not necessarly imply good or bad postoperative satisfaction. The good postoperative satisfaction can exempt the individual from social phobia. Inversely, it’s dissatisfaction can provoke social phobia.
